Senate District 38 Convention Passes 25 Resolutions

| | | |

The Senate District 38 DFL Convention on February 20, 2010, passed 25 resolutions ranging from support of universal health care and other health care reforms to promotion of climate change and other environmental protection policies to limiting corporate involvement in campaigns and elections.

The District Convention's passage of the 25 resolutions is one step in the process of amending the state DFL party platform that began when precinct caucus attendees proposed and adopted 67 resolutions on February 2. At least 60% of District Convention delegates had to vote in favor of a resolution in order for it to be passed and sent to the DFL State Convention April 23-25 in Duluth for consideration by those delegates for inclusion in the party platform.

A list of the 25 resolutions can be downloaded here.

Deadline To Make A "Free" Donation Is June 30th

| | | | |

Governor Pawlenty has announced his intention to end the Political Contribution Refund (PCR) program in just a few days. The PCR program is the funding mechanism that lets grassroots donors have as much say in politics as wealthy individuals and PACs. And Governor Pawlenty may be about to kill it.

The PCR program is a casualty of the Governor’s shortsighted unallotments -- but it isn’t the only casualty. The real victims are the tens of thousands of Minnesotans whom the Governor’s short-sighted actions will hurt.

Eagan Resident Benjamin Gross Casts Electoral Vote For Obama

|

Dec 15, 2008 -- Minnesota proudly cast all 10 of its electoral votes for Barack Obama and Joe Biden today.  The historic nature of electing the nation's first African-American President was not lost on the ten DFLers who cast the votes, including Eagan resident Benjamin Gross.

Benjamin is a familiar face to SD 38 DFLers.  A union man who happens to be an African-American, Benjamin has fought for decades to elect DFLers to the Minnesota House, Senate, and Congress.  Congratulatons Benjamin on making history and helping us take back our country!
